Артикль — это особое слово в английском языке, которое ставится перед существительным, чтобы показать, что речь идёт о каком-то предмете или существе. Неопределённые артикли а и ап мы используем, когда говорим о предмете впервые и не знаем о нём подробностей. Как выбрать артикль: • Если слово начинается с гласного звука (а, е, i, о, и), мы ставим ап о Пример: an apple, an owl, ап едд. • Если слово начинается с согласного звука, мы ставим а. о Пример: a fox, a table, а сир Важно: мы ориентируемся на звук, а не на букву. • an apple, но a yellow apple — потому что yellow начинается с согласного звука [j]. Это «тот самый» предмет, о котором мы уже упомянули или о котором знаем из ситуации. । Чаще всего the используется, когда: • Мы говорим о предмете во второй раз о It is a book. The book is шее. — Это книга. Эта книга хорошая. • Из контекста понятно, какой именно предмет имеется в виду. о Where is the girl? — Где та девочка? (Мы понимаем, какую о именно девочку ищем.) • Мы говорим о предмете в обобщающем смысле, имея в виду весь вид или класс объектов. о The dog is an anima/. — Собака — это животное (все собаки). И.Порядковые числительные Цифры могут обозначать не только количество, но и порядок предметов или событий, В английском языке порядковые ; числительные образуются добавлением окончания -th к I количественному числительному. Например, six (шесть) становится sixth (шестой). Перед порядковым числительным всегда ; ставится определённый артикль the; the sixth. : Есть исключения, у которых формы особенные: • one — the first Г ! • two — the second • three — the Third !• f ive — the fifth ; • nine — the ninth : Эти исключения сохраняются и в составных порядковых I числительных, например: the twenty-first. : Правило написания окончания -у в порядковых числительных. : Если количественное число заканчивается на букву -у, то в I порядковом числе -у меняется на -ie, а затем добавляется -th.
