is authorized to prevent serious damage to
equipment.
b.	Category of Maintenance. Organizational
(2d Echelon).
c.	Applied By. Small Arms Repairman
(MOS 421.1).
d.	Time Required. 0.25 man-hour.
e.	Comments with Reference to Published
MWO. None.
f.	Remarks. Inspect machine gun mount. If
machine screw is more than 2 inches long,
perform this modification (fig. 1).

d.	Weight and Cubage of Parts and Ma-
terials.

3.	Purpose of Modification. To eliminate
physical damage between screw on pintle and
M60 machinegun trigger guard at maximum
elevation.
4.	Priority Classification. This MWO is clas-
sified in the NORMAL group and will be ac-
complished as soon as practicable on all items
in the field.
Note. It is not necessary for materiel to be with-
drawn from storage solely for the application of this
modification, but the modification will be applied at the
time materiel is withdrawn for issue, rebuild, or tech-
nical inspection.

REMOVE MACHINE SCREW 5305-059-7963
(NUT ON SCREW) FROM PINTLE.
STEP 3. CUT OFF 1/4 INCH STOCK FROM END OF
MACHINE SCREW. (SCREW WILL BE
2 INCHES LONG UPON COMPLETION.)
REMOVE ROUGH EDGES AND BURS.
REMOVE AND INSTALL NUT ON
MACHINE SCREW TO CHECK THREAD.
INSTALL MACHINE SCREW AND NUT
INTO PINTLE.
MAKE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENT AND
LOCK NUT SECURELY.
