11 is a great pleasure to leaf through this collection of
twenty two pieces written for classical guitar players. 1 am
deeply convinced that these compositions would fill the gap
existing in the literature for guitar. The book is diverse and
therefore quite helpful for music teachers al different kinds
of music schools. You can find classical and other styles of
compositions, e.g. blues or latin. Owing to his excellent
masterey of the guitar , Milan Tesar has fully grasped its
possibitlities. Some of his important compositions have
been piemired by myself both in Czecho and abroad, and
have been surprisingly well received. In my opinion this is
a compilation that fully satisfies all guitar players who
would like their music to have wide appeal.

1938 Bom in Prague (March 30thJ

1964 Finished his musical education at rhe Prague Concer-
vatory and took up his work as a musical teacher at the
Prague Volkskonservaiorium

1969-71 Spent in Italy teaching and performing.

Since 1973 Has been teaching again in Prague and concentrating
on his compositions pans of which have been
published from Edition Lemoine in Paris; Edition
Supraphon in Prague and fromEdition Daminus in
Walsrode, Germany

His music contains classical elements influenced by the Chech and
Bohemian traditional and is also inspired by the ’Music form the
West’ like Blues and Jazz. Suite Perestroika has been recorded by
Miloslav Matousek and Miran Zelenka (Czech Guitar Duo) for
Daminus Records DR902 CD.
