I Am on Duty Today
Usually I get up at seven o’clock. Today I am on
duty and I must be in school at half past seven. I get
up at a quarter to seven, do my morning exercises,
wash and dress and have my breakfast. At a quarter
past seven I am in the street. The weather is not fine.
It is raining and it is cool. I have my raincoat and a
cap on. In the street I see my friend Sasha. He is
going to school. He is on duty too. We gel to school
at twenty-five minutes past seven. Wc go into our
classroom and open the windows. Now we clean the
blackboard and put the chair by the teacher’s desk.
The pupils of our class come in.

At an English Lesson
My name is Nina Ivanova. I am in the fourth
form.
I go to school in the morning. Al eight o’clock
I take my school-bag with my exercise-books and
textbooks, say good-bye to my mother, and go
out. In the streets I see my friends. They are going
to school too.
Today we have an English lesson. We have
English lessons four days a week: Tuesday, Wednes-
day, Thursday and Saturday.
When we get to school, we go to our classroom.
The pupils on duly open the windows and clean the
blackboard. We put our bags in the desks. English
is our first lesson. We lake our pens, English text-
books and exercise-books out oi our bags and put
them on the desks. When the teacher comes, we stand
up.
The teacher says good morning. We answer good
morning and sit down.
At the English lesson we do exercises. The teacher
asks questions and we answer the questions. We de-
scribe pictures. We can count from one up to hundred
and do sums in English. Wo take our books, read
English texts and do exercises. Pupils go to
the teacher’s desk and do exercises al the
blackboard.
We can speak and read English. The pupils get
fours and fives in English.

dren’s room. There is a desk in the room. Nina’s text-
books and exercise-books arc on the desk.
