1. Purpose
The PAX-Extremities-Tourniquet (P-E -T) is designed to
stop heavy, life-threatening bleeding of the upper and
lower extremities of adults and teens if,
- bleeding is unmanageable in other ways
- a c c ording to the situation, the application of the P-E -T
is the best alternative treatment.
2. Introduction
It is mandatory to read and understand the instructions
for use carefully and completely before first use. The
PAX-Extremities-Tourniquet should only be used as di-
rected by military service component guidelines, the
EMS authority, or under the supervision of a medical
practitioner. According to the situation, the application
of the P-E -T should be defined as the best alternative
treatment.
3. Unintended Side-Effects and Misapplication
Applying the P-E -T can cause severe pain to the pa-
tient. In rare cases inappropriate use of the P-E -T can
cause serious injuries or loss of limbs. The P-E -T is a
single-use product. Use of the P-E -T several times is
strictly prohibited. Inadequate performance and mate-
rial fatigue could be a result of using the P-E -T several
times. Furthermore the risk of a contaminated P-E -T is
much higher for both, user and patient. Using the P-E -T
several times could lead to the P-E -T rod loosening itself
during transport or patient care.

4. General Information for Use
1. Control the func tion of the P-E -T during transpor t
and reac t appropriately if the wound star ts bleeding
again.
2. If bleeding rec ommenc es, t wist the P-E -T-ro d again
until bleeding has stopped. Lo ck the P-E -T-ro d with
the red safety belt as desc ribed below.
3. To enha nce the func tion of the P-E-T, you mus t ele-
vate the affected ex tremities.
4. Use of the P-E -T should not cause interference dur-
ing X-Ray or CT scan procedures. The material of the
P-E-T is radio luc ent.

• store at room temperature
• store dry and protected from light
• avoid contact with aggre ssi ve substances / chemicals
6. Inspection and Durability
The P-E-T un avoidably loses durability over the cour se
of its shelf life. This is accelerated by UV rays, heat,
chemicals, aggressive environmental conditions and
dirt. Ensure yourself of a proper condition of the P-E -T
before use. The P-E-T must be in a perfect technical
and hygienic condition, other wise a saf e applicatio n is
not gua ranteed. The ma ximum usa ge life is in optimal
storage conditions and without use - 5 years.
7. Disposal
You can deposit the P-E-T in the non-recyclable waste
af ter proper disinfection. Please note the local re-
quirements for disposal of non-recyclable waste.

1. Zweckbestimmung
Zur Abbindung des Blutstromes bei starken, lebensbe-
drohlichen Blutungen der oberen und unteren Extremi-
täten, bei Erwachsenen und Jugendlichen,
- die anderweitig nicht kontrollierbar sind oder
-
wenn dies situationsbedingt die beste Behandlungs-
alternative darstellt.
2. Einführung
Vor der Erstbenutzung eines PAX-Extremitäten-Tourni-
quet (P-E -T) ist es zwingend notwendig, die Gebrauchs-
anleitung aufmerksam und vollständig zu lesen und zu
verstehen.
P-E -T sind nur von Personen in gutem körperlichem und
geistigem Zustand zu benutzen. Diese müssen in der
sicheren Anwendung ausgebildet sein und die notwen-
digen Kenntnisse besitzen oder unter Beaufsichtigung
einer solchen Person stehen. Das P-E -T ist für die An-
wendung durch ungeschulte Personen nicht geeignet.
Die Anwendung eines P-E -T sollte situationsbedingt die
beste Behandlungsalternative darstellen.
3. Unerwünschte Nebenwirkungen und
Fehlanwendungen
Das Anlegen des P-E -T kann zu starken Schmerzen an
der Abbindestelle führen.
Die nicht sachgemäße Anwendung des P-E -T kann in
seltenen Fällen zu schweren Verletzungen oder dem
Verlust von Gliedmaßen führen.
Das P-E -T ist ein Einmalprodukt. Die mehrmalige Be-
nutzung des P-E -T wird strengstens untersagt.
Durch mehrmalige Benutzung des P-E -T kann eine
ungenügende Abbindung, durch Materialermüdung,
nicht ausgeschlossen werden.
Zusätzlich besteht, bei mehrmaliger Benutzung, die
Möglichkeit der Gefährdung von Anwendern und Pa-
tienten durch ein kontaminiertes P-E -T. Ebenfalls kann
durch die Materialermüdung ein Lösen des P-E -T Kne-
bels, im Rahmen der weiteren Versorgung und des
Transports bei Wiederverwendung nicht ausgeschlos-
sen werden.

4. Allgemeine Hinweise zur
Anwendung
1. Überwachen Sie während des Transports die Funk-
tion der Blutsperre und reagieren Sie angemessen, so -
bald die Blutung erneut auftritt.
2. Sofern die Blutung erneut auftritt, aufgrund von Lo -
ckerung der Abbindung, drehen Sie den P-E -T-Knebel
fester, bis die Blutung stoppt und fixieren diesen, wie
oben beschrieben.
3. Sie erreichen eine Effektivitätssteigerung der Blut-
sperre, wenn Sie die betroffenen Extremitäten hoch-
lagern.
4. Bei der Anfertigung von Röntgen- oder CT Aufnah-
men bei angelegtem P-E -T sind keine wechselseitigen
Störungen zu erwarten. Das Material des P-E -T ist rönt-
genstrahlendurchlässig mit Dämpfung.
5. Lagerung
• Bei Ra umtemperat ur lagern.
• Troc ken und lichtgeschützt
lagern.
• Ko ntakt mit aggressiven Stof fen
/ Chemikalien vermeiden.
6. Inspektion & Lebensdauer
Das P-E-T v erlier t im La ufe seiner Lebensdauer an
Haltbarkeit. Dies wird durch UV-Strahlen, Hitze, Che-
mikalien, aggressive Atmosphäre und Schmutz be-
sc hleunigt. Über zeugen Sie sich daher, vo r jeder A n-
wendung, vom ordnungsgemäßen Zustand des P-E -T.
Dieses mus s sich in einwandfreiem technischem und
hygienischem Zustand befinden, da eine sichere An-
wendung ansonsten nicht gewährleistet werden kann.
Die maximale Nutzungsdauer beträgt bei optimalen
Lagerbedingungen und ohne Benutzung 5 Jahre.
7. Entsorgung
Nach einer ordnungsgemäß durchgeführten Desin-
fektio n ka nn da s P-E-T im R estmüll ent sorgt werden.
Bitte bea chten sie Ihre lokalen Vo rgaben zur Ent sor-
gung von Restmüll.

Führen Sie die blutende Glied-
maße in das zur Schlaufe ge-
legte P-E -T.
Ziehen Sie den durchgeschlauf-
ten Haltegurt stramm, führen
es zurück und fixieren es mittels
des Flauschbandes.
Führen Sie den Haltegurt so weit
es geht um die Gliedmaße her-
um, um ein Lösen zu verhindern.
Drehen Sie nun solange an dem
P-E -T-Knebel bis die Blutung
stoppt.
Führen Sie den Haltegurt ober-
halb der Verletzung um das Bein
und fädeln den Haltegurt durch
die Verschlussschnalle.
Fädeln Sie nun das Ende des
Haltegurts durch die außen lie-
gende Öffnung der Verschluss-
schnalle.
Folgen Sie nun den Punkten 4
bis 6 der oben erklärten Anbrin-
gung am Arm.
Dokumentieren Sie den Zeit-
punkt des Abbindens auf dem
dafür vorgesehenen Bereich des
roten Sicherungskletts
Fixieren Sie den P-E -T-Knebel in dieser Position mithilfe der 2 Fixierpunk-
te der P-E -T-Gurt-Platte und sichern diesen mittels des roten Sicherungs -
kletts.

Das P-E -T sollte immer oberhalb
der Wunde zum Körper zwischen

PAX P-E -T ar trebui să fie folosit conform regulamentelor operaţionale ale serviciilor militare, ale autorităţii locale în
medicina de urgenţă sau sub supravegherea unui specialist în medicină. În conformitate cu fiecare situaţie în parte,
aplicarea garoului P-E -T ar trebui să reprezinte cel mai bun tratament alternativ.
RECOMANDARE
Garoul P-E-T îşi pierde în mod inevitabil rezistenţa de-a lungul duratei de viaţă. Acest proces este accelerat din cauza
razelor UV, căldurii, chimicalelor, condiţilor atmosferice aspre şi murdăriei. Vă rugăm să verificaţi starea P-E-T
înainte de utilizare, pentru a vă asigura că este în stare bună de funcţionare. Garoul P-E-T trebuie să fie în stare tehnică
şi igienică bună, în caz contrar nu poate fi garantată aplicarea sigură.

3. Efecte adverse neintenţionate şi aplicarea greşită
Aplicarea garoului P-E -T poate cauza pacientului dureri severe. În cazuri rare, aplicarea greşită a garoului P-E-T poate
cauza leziuni grave sau pierderea membrelor. Garoul P-E-T este un produs de unică folosinţă. Utilizarea garoului P-E -

T de mai multe ori este strict interzisă. Funcţionarea inadecvată şi uzura materialului pot fi rezultatul utilizării garoului
P-E -T de mai multe ori. Mai mult, riscul utilizării unui garou P-E-T contaminat este mult mai mare atât pentru salvator
cât şi pentru pacient. Utilizarea repetată a garoului P-E-T poate să ducă la slăbirea tijei pe timpul transportului sau pe
durata terapiei.
4. Informaţii generale privind utilizarea
1. Controlaţi funcţionarea garoului P-E -T pe durata transportului şi reacţionaţi corect dacă rana începe să sângereze
din nou.
2. Dacă reîncepe sângerarea, rotiţi tija garoului P-E-T din nou, până când hemoragia se opreşte. Blocaţi tija garoului
P-E -T cu centura de siguranţă de culoare roşie, conform descrierii de mai jos.
3. Pentru a îmbunătăţi funcţionarea garoului P-E -T, trebuie să ridicaţi extremitatea afectată.
4. Utilizarea garoului P-E -T nu produce interferenţe în timpul examinării/scanării cu raze X/CT. Materialul utilizat în
garoul P-E-T este radiotransparent.
5. Depozitare
• depozitaţi la temperatura camerei
• depozitaţi în mediu uscat şi ferit de lumină
• evitaţi contactul cu substanţe/chimicale agresive
6. Inspecţie şi durabilitate
Garoul P-E-T îşi pierde în mod inevitabil rezistenţa de-a lungul duratei de viaţă. Acest proces este accelerat din cauza

Aplicarea pe braţ
1. Introduceţi braţul traumatizat prin bucla garoului P-E -T
2. Trageţi strâns centura, asiguraţi-o şi fixaţi-o înapoi pe lungimea ei cu banda velcro

3. Rotiţi tija garoului până când hemoragia se opreşte
4. Blocaţi tija garoului cu unul din cele două cârlige de fixare
5. Asiguraţi tija garoului cu centura de siguranţă de culoare roşie
6. Înregistraţi ora aplicării pe centura de siguranţă de culoare roşie
Garoul PAX pentru extremităţi trebuie să fie aplicat deasupra rănii, între cot şi umăr respectiv genunchi şi coapsă.
Aplicarea pe picior
1. Rulaţi centura în jurul piciorului şi treceţi capătul acesteia prin fanta interioară a cataramei de închidere
2. Treceţi capătul centurii prin fanta exterioară a cataramei de închidere şi tragei strâns centura. Fixaţi centura
înapoi pe lungimea ei cu banda velcro.
