Automatic pistol
’’SUOMI”
The automatic pistol is a firearm, which, by means
of the pressure of the powder-gas and the counter-
pressure of the mechanism, is automatically loaded,
fired, and ejects the spent cartridge-cases. With
the automatic pistol one can fire both a single round
and automatic' rapid fire; the pistol can be set at
’’safe”, depending on the position of the switch.
Preparing to shoot.
The handle on the right hand side of the pistol
‘is drawn back as far as it goes; this cocks the
pistol.
Then the magazine is pushed underneath the
pistol so far, that the locking spring of the magazine
locks it.
The shooting can then begin, either one single
shot or automatic firing, depending on the position
of the switch.
In automatic firing the switch lies in its front
position.

For single shots the switch is in the central
position.
The pistol is at ’’safe” with the switch in its
back position.

The Suomi automatic pistol has been thoroughly
tested by the Ministry of Defence of Finland, and
it has been ascertained that this automatic pistol
functions safer and has greater precision than other
automatic pistols on the market.
Even in comparison with light machine guns
of foreign makes tested by Finland’s Ministry of
Defence, it has been proved that the disturbances
in the functioning of the pistol in question were
essentially less.
Further it must be emphasized that the Suomi
automatic pistol, even at a distance of 500 metres,

has a surprisingly good precision of aim with good
penetration.
The automatic pistol Suomi is therefore a par-
ticularly suitable firearm in close fighting of every
kind, thanks to its safety in functioning, its effec-
tive firing, and its great precision of aim combined
with its handiness.
Finland’s Ministry of Defence has, in particularly
approving the results of the tests, given a trial order
for about a hundred of these automatic pistols.
The illustrations show pictures of targets at
the official trials held by the Ministry of Defence as
well as the exterior of the pistol.
